Acceptance of terms
These Program Terms govern participation in the TBP Partner Network, operated under The Book Publisher, a brand of Creative Ideator Inc.
By submitting a partner application or participating in the network you accept these Program Terms, version 1.0, effective August 4, 2026. If you do not accept them, do not submit an application.
Program operator
The program is operated by Creative Ideator Inc. at 1053 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ontario, M1P 2G7, Canada. TBP Partner Network and The Book Publisher are brands of Creative Ideator Inc. and are not separate legal entities.
Program purpose
The network connects qualified businesses and organizations with books, authors, publishers, printing and production work, promotional campaigns, events, distribution, and fulfillment opportunities, where an actual program need exists.
Eligibility
Applicants must be a business, organization, or institution, or an authorized representative of one, and must be able to enter into commercial arrangements in their own name.
United States and Canada availability
The program is currently available in the United States and Canada. This describes where the program is offered and does not change the governing law or dispute venue set out below.
Application process
Applying involves confirming your email address with a verification code, completing the application sections relevant to your organization, reviewing your answers, providing the required acknowledgments, and submitting the application for review. Drafts are saved so you can return and continue.
Human application review
Technology may assist with verification, fraud prevention, duplicate detection, organization, matching, and status management.
Final application decisions are made by a member of the TBP team.
Accuracy of information
You must provide information that is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge and keep it up to date. Inaccurate, misleading, or incomplete information may result in a declined application, or suspension or removal from the network.
Application approval
Approval is at our discretion and depends on program needs, capacity, geography, and suitability. We may approve, decline, waitlist, request clarification, or withdraw an application.
No guarantee of opportunities
Submitting an application does not create any of the following:
- guaranteed approval

- guaranteed promotional placement
- guaranteed traffic
- guaranteed revenue
- guaranteed profit
- guaranteed commissions

Approved partners may be offered opportunities only when their business type, geographic location, audience, operating model, space, availability, capabilities, and commercial terms match an actual program need.
No guarantee of income or commercial results
We make no representation about earnings, sales volume, footfall, engagement, or any other commercial result. Any figures used in program materials are illustrative and are not a projection or promise for your organization.
Partner-controlled participation
You choose which opportunities to take part in.
- partners choose which opportunities they accept
- partners are not required to accept every opportunity
- declining one opportunity does not automatically terminate network eligibility
- TBP may determine whether an opportunity is appropriate for a partner
- an opportunity is not confirmed until the applicable parties accept its specific terms
Opportunity-specific terms
Each opportunity may require separate scope, price, commission, payment, inventory, shipping, returns, event, promotional, confidentiality, licensing, or performance terms. The initial application is not a substitute for those separate terms, and the opportunity-specific terms govern that opportunity.
Book purchasing and supply arrangements
Where an opportunity involves supplying books, the applicable order, price, discount, delivery, title selection, and payment terms are agreed separately for that arrangement.
Wholesale arrangements
Wholesale purchases are subject to separately agreed pricing tiers, minimum quantities, lead times, freight terms, and payment terms.
Consignment arrangements
Consignment arrangements are subject to separately agreed title lists, consignment periods, reporting, settlement schedules, shrinkage responsibility, and return handling. Title and risk allocation are set out in that arrangement.
Sale-or-return arrangements
Sale-or-return arrangements are subject to separately agreed return windows, condition requirements, return shipping responsibility, and credit terms.
Sponsored physical placements
Paid or sponsored physical placements such as window, table, shelf, endcap, counter, or display placements are subject to separately agreed duration, location, pricing, materials, photographic proof, and compliance requirements.
Sponsored digital placements
Sponsored digital placements such as newsletters, social posts, website features, or in-store screens are subject to separately agreed format, timing, disclosure, approval, and performance-reporting requirements. You are responsible for complying with advertising-disclosure laws and platform rules.
Book events and author appearances
Events, signings, readings, and author appearances are subject to separately agreed dates, space, staffing, capacity, ticketing, inventory, travel, cancellation, insurance, and safety requirements.
Book fairs and festivals
Book-fair and festival participation is subject to separately agreed booth or table arrangements, fees, inventory, staffing, setup and teardown, and organizer rules.
Distribution and wholesale participation
Distribution and wholesale participation is subject to separately agreed catalog terms, territory, discount structure, reporting, and settlement terms.
Fulfillment and logistics participation
Fulfillment and logistics participation is subject to separately agreed storage, handling, pick-and-pack, carrier, insurance, service-level, claims, and liability terms.
Printing and production participation
Printing and production participation is subject to separately agreed specifications, proofs, colour standards, quantities, turnaround times, defect handling, reprint responsibility, and intellectual-property licences for supplied files.
Media and promotional participation
Media, podcast, review, interview, and promotional participation is subject to separately agreed editorial independence, disclosure, scheduling, usage rights, and approval terms.
Optional referrals
Referral participation is optional and covers referrals of authors, publishers, or businesses. Partners are never required to refer readers, customers, shoppers, café visitors, book buyers, or ordinary retail customers.
- referral participation is optional
- referral participation does not determine application approval
- referral participation does not guarantee commission
- commission terms, eligibility, attribution, payment timing, exclusions, and qualification rules are provided separately
- partners must not make unauthorized claims or promises on behalf of TBP
Portal and promotional listings
If a partner listing is offered, you control the information published in it. Exact street addresses and map coordinates are not automatically published or displayed, and are not shared with authors, publishers, distributors, or other third parties except where appropriate for an approved opportunity and after the applicable approval process.
Partner-provided information and content
You are responsible for the information and content you provide, including descriptions, capabilities, photographs, media kits, and rate cards, and you confirm you have the rights needed to provide them.
Photographs, logos, and trademarks
You grant us a non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the photographs, logos, and names you supply for the purpose of reviewing your application, administering the program, and — where you have approved it — promoting the relevant opportunity or partner listing. You may withdraw that licence for future use by contacting us.
TBP, The Book Publisher, and related names and logos remain the property of Creative Ideator Inc. and may be used only as expressly authorized in writing or in supplied program materials.
Confidentiality
Non-public program information, pricing, title plans, author information, and opportunity details shared with you must be kept confidential and used only for the purpose for which they were shared. Specific opportunities may impose additional confidentiality terms.
Privacy
Information collected through the application is handled as described in the TBP Partner Network Privacy Policy.
Direct contact information will not be shared with authors, publishers, distributors, or other third parties unless the partner approves the specific opportunity first.
Compliance with laws
You must comply with all laws applicable to your business, including consumer-protection, advertising and disclosure, tax, employment, accessibility, health and safety, and privacy laws.
Venue, safety, and operational requirements
Where an opportunity takes place at your premises or a venue you control, you are responsible for the suitability and safety of the space, capacity limits, permits, staffing, accessibility, crowd management, and required insurance.
Independent-business relationship
Partners remain independent businesses or organizations. Nothing in the application or in network participation creates employment, partnership in the legal sense, a franchise, a fiduciary relationship, agency, a joint venture, authority to contract on behalf of Creative Ideator Inc., or authority to make binding guarantees for TBP.
Partners remain responsible for:
- their employees
- contractors
- premises
- permits
- insurance
- taxes
- licenses
- safety
- operations
- legal compliance
Payments, taxes, commissions, and payouts
Any amount payable to or by a partner, including commissions and payouts, is set out in the opportunity-specific terms, including amounts, currency, invoicing, timing, qualification rules, adjustments for returns or cancellations, and required payment details.
Each party is responsible for its own taxes. Partners are responsible for collecting and remitting any taxes applicable to their own sales and for providing valid tax information where required.
Intellectual property
Each party retains ownership of its own intellectual property. No transfer of ownership occurs under these Program Terms; only the limited licences described here or in opportunity-specific terms are granted.
Suspension and removal
We may suspend or remove a partner from the network or from a specific opportunity where there is inaccurate information, a breach of these terms or of opportunity-specific terms, unlawful or unsafe conduct, suspected fraud, unauthorized use of our marks, or reputational or legal risk.
Termination
Either party may end participation in the network at any time by written notice. Termination does not affect obligations already accrued, confirmed opportunities that are in progress, or terms that survive by their nature, including confidentiality, intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification.
Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated in these terms or in opportunity-specific terms, and to the extent permitted by law, the network, portal, and program materials are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. Nothing in this section excludes a warranty or condition that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business opportunities, lost data, reputational loss, or interruption of business, and we are not liable for third-party conduct, unsuccessful campaigns, cancelled events, unavailable opportunities, or a partner's own inventory decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the program is limited to the amounts actually paid by us to the partner under the specific opportunity giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred Canadian dollars where no such amount was paid.
Nothing in this section limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any statutory or consumer right that applies and cannot be waived.
Indemnification
Subject to applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Creative Ideator Inc. and its officers, employees, and contractors from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from:
- inaccurate information supplied by the partner
- unauthorized use of intellectual property
- unlawful promotional claims
- partner premises or events
- partner staff or contractors
- violations of law
- breach of opportunity-specific agreements
This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own breach, negligence, or wilful misconduct.
Changes to the program and terms
We may change the program or these terms. The version and effective date shown on this page always reflect the current terms. Where a material change occurs before you submit an application, acceptance of the current versions is required and an earlier acceptance is not reused.
Governing law
These Program Terms and any dispute arising from or relating to the TBP Partner Network are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Dispute venue
Subject to any mandatory rights or legal requirements that cannot lawfully be excluded, the parties agree that disputes will be brought before the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions stay in effect.
Entire agreement and opportunity-specific agreements
These Program Terms and the TBP Partner Network Privacy Policy form the agreement covering network participation. Where an opportunity-specific agreement conflicts with these terms, the opportunity-specific agreement governs that opportunity.
